Jim Sargeant grew up in Clyde, Ohio a small town in Northern Ohio. During high school he was active in athletics and music. His education at The Ohio State University was interrupted in 1955 by a stint in the U.S. Navy where his horizons were greatly expanded and he began a lifelong desire to travel. After graduation from Ohio State in 1959, he began his career as an Industrial Engineer. Over the next decade he progressed from an Industrial Engineer to a Plant Manager to a Senior Corporate Staff Trouble Shooter with Westinghouse; General Dynamics; TWA; Bendix Engineering; and The Kroger Co. |

In 1970, he joined Arthur Young & Co; a national CPA firm. Advancing to a Principal in the firm, he endured a heavy travel schedule providing consulting services to many businesses throughout the Midwest. In 1976 he went out on his own as a Business Turnaround Consultant specializing in helping small to medium sized businesses. Over the last twenty six years he has assisted over one hundred companies. His work for one of these companies resulted in them being selected as national runner up for Inc Magazine’s Turnaround Entrepreneur of the year. |

His hobbies still include music, flying and boating. His music includes regularly playing keyboard for his friends and family. His flying experience included acquiring his Private and Commercial licenses with instrument and multi-engine ratings. Flying his own plane “Nancy”, he touched down in many small airfields throughout the Midwest. As avid boaters, Jim and his lovely wife Joyce sailed their sloop Sea Dream for eighteen years around Florida and throughout the Florida Keys waters. In 1999, after having acquired his USCG Master Captain’s license, they took their new power boat Sea Dream II on the Great Circle Cruise; a six thousand mile, six months trip around the Eastern U.S. |

Jim and Joyce have two grown daughters; Cynthia Anne and Sherry Lynn. Jim and Joyce live on the beach in Venice, Florida. |
